Please join us for a lunchtime discussion with Matthew Vitz, new Assistant Professsor of History.
Matthew Vitz’s research spans the urban and environmental history of Mexico and Latin America, energy history, the ecological and social impacts of beachfront tourism in twentieth-century Mexico, and food history. He is particularly drawn to questions of environmental justice, the way power is anchored in the material environment, urban metabolisms, and the dialectical relationships between cities and their national and transnational hinterlands.
The conversation with Prof. Vitz will be hosted and moderated by Keith Pezzoli, Director of Urban Studies and Planning Programs.
This event is part of an ongoing series of Monday lunches made possible by a gift from Gay Lester. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP.
